Aline Kamakian

Aline Kamakian is not only owner of IIC sarl (Insurance and Investment Consultants) a of brokerage company that mainly focuses on cooperate insurance; she is also the founder Mayrig, together with her cousin, Serge Maacaron, a traditional Armenian restaurant that opened its first franchise in Jeddah in February 2011. She is a member of the Armenian General Benevolent union and the Armenian Youth Association and board member of the Lebanese Franchise Association.

Her passion for culinary and the restaurant management started when her associate Serge and she made an important discovery: their grandmother’s food was good, so good that they needed to share it with the whole world. Aline and Serge carefully reconstructed the soon-to-be restaurant one element at a time. Often working from memory with their mother’s help, they faithfully recaptured the secrets of their grandmother’s recipes. They chose an ancient stone house in Beirut’s Gemmayzeh quarter for the location. Finally came the name: an Armenian term of affection that means ‘little mother’.

And since then Mayrig started its expansion realizing the childhood dream of Aline kamakian “Spread the Armenian culture all over the world through its culinary art”.
